OUR INSTRUCTORS

Karen Canfield

Karen Canfield is a wife and mother, with two amazing young adult sons. She graduated from BYU with a B.A. in Communications, focusing on managerial training and development, and organizational psychology. 

Karen is a Humanitarian Entrepreneur, Certified Belief Breakthrough Coach, and Personal Mentor. Her passion is helping others, especially through enhancing mental wellness, eliminating limiting beliefs, and empowering them to live extraordinary lives. 

In 2009 Karen overcame 33 years of depression and anxiety after attending Dr. Neil Nedley’s Depression and Anxiety Recovery Program. She became a certified director and now assists others in their journey to recovery, through lifestyle change and education.

Cassandra Casey

Cassandra “Cassie” Casey is a wife, mother to seven, and grandmother to ten.  She trained as a paralegal and has worked in the Early Intervention field for nearly 25 years.  

She is passionate about mental healthcare reform, and for the last twenty years, has worked toward that end.  She has hosted a radio program addressing mental health and has been an invited guest speaker to local and national radio programs. 

She was introduced to the Nedley Depression and Anxiety Recovery program (NDARP) in 2007 and over the years has taught this program in Utah County.  She is convinced this is the most comprehensive program ever developed to help people find their way out of depression and anxiety.  Simply said – this program works!

Karen Welch

Karen Welch became interested in depression and anxiety recovery while gaining her degree in genetics. She has now been a certified director for the Nedley Depression and Anxiety Recovery Program for many years. 

As a mother, she is aware of the unique issues facing our youth today and enjoys teaching this comprehensive and scientifically-based approach to creating lasting emotional well-being. 

She is thrilled with the opportunity to see so many people helped through Dr. Nedley’s powerful program.

Alana Woffinden

Alana Woffinden is a single mother with five children and five grandchildren.  She has a B.S. in dental hygiene and is a certified health coach.  She also has a love for nutrition and holistic wellness that started more than 20 years ago.

Alana is certified as a Director for the Nedley Depression and Anxiety Recovery Program and is passionate about helping others reach their potential.  Alana overcame depression and PTSD that resulted from traumatic life experiences, and she wants to be able to help those who are suffering by sharing the valuable resources found in this program.

FAQ

What can I expect from an 8-week community NDARP program? 
Our programs meet once a week for 2 hours, for a period of 8 weeks. The program is led by certified associate directors and facilitators, and consists of a combination of DVD presentations and facilitated group discussions. The combined support of the other participants and the leaders makes for a positive approach to addressing mental health topics.

Do I have to be depressed or anxious to attend? 
No way! Although our target audience is those suffering from depression and anxiety, anyone can benefit from the principles in this program.

How do I apply for a hardship scholarship?
Please send an email with the following information:

– Name
– Address
– Phone
– A statement asking for reimbursement with an explanation of your financial strain or difficulty
– Commitment to attend all eight weeks of the course

If approved, you will need to register and pay $70.00 for the course through Eventbrite, plus a $5.89 processing fee charged by Eventbrite. $70.00 will then be reimbursed to you via check from Hope4Orem. You will need to pick up the check from Bunney Schmidt, Treasurer of Hope4Orem, at her home in Orem. Please email her to arrange for pickup (bschmidtcpa@gmail.com). 

If reimbursement is not an option for you, please indicate in your reply.
