NOTE: If a partnership with your school’s PTA is not currently feasible, please fill out our original grant application here: Original Hope4Orem Grant.
Step 1: The PTA creates a board position for a Hope Squad Liaison. This liaison may be a parent with a student already involved with Hope Squad, but not necessarily. The liaison’s responsibilities should include regular communication with Hope Squad Advisors and, if time allows, assist the Hope Squads in various activities (like Hope Week or Squad Parties). With this extra parent support, we believe Hope Squads can magnify their purpose and increase Squad size.
Agreeing to and meeting the requirements of Stage 1 qualifies the Hope Squad to receive $500 to enhance their program for items like squad t-shirts and supplies for Hope Week, etc.
The PTA also receives $100 for their support in enhancing Hope4Orem’s mission of establishing functional Hope Squads in every Orem School.
Step 2: Hope4Orem needs help with our annual community outreach event at the SCERA Shell, usually held during the last week of August/first week of September. We primarily need help getting these events announced in schools, displaying preprinted posters, and including announcements in emails/newsletters, etc. We have had minimal success engaging the community independently, but now with the PTA’s support, we can practically move mountains.
Committing to and meeting the requirements of Stage 2 qualifies the PTA to receive an additional $100, for a total of $200.
Step 3: The PTA Liaison must respond to a mid-year survey and end-of-year survey to be eligible to reapply for the grant for the following school year.
