Janis Lindley, Founder

Hope4Orem is the result of one woman who decided it was time to go back to school and finish her college degree. Her primary goal in doing so was to be able to give back to her faith, family, and community. Little did Janis Lindley know that a required internship would turn into a passionate cause.

Janis was required to complete an internship to achieve her dream of having her diploma. She was interested in the mission of Hope4Utah, a suicide prevention organization that works with a unique peer-based curriculum that trains students to recognize if a friend is struggling and know how to get them help.

This intrigued Janis as she had lost a dear uncle to suicide and other close friends. This was something she could get behind. The more she worked with Dr. Greg Hudnall and co-worker, Cathy Bledsoe, she realized she needed to take their mission to her home town of Orem, Utah.

Now Janis has formed her own 501(c)3 and with the help of her determined “Mom Squad”, she is accomplishing her goal to get Hope Squads in Orem Schools.

Cathy Ambrose, Executive Director

Cathy Ambrose joined Hope4Orem in 2018. Her concern for for the higher rates of suicide for those with autism and how that could affect her family motivated her to become involved.

However, it was her experience in web-design and social media combined with years of volunteering on her children’s PTA’s and School Community Councils that made her a great fit for Hope4Orem.

Ambrose’s goals for Hope4Orem are to continue using social media to educate the community about suicide prevention, teach skills to improve one’s mental wellness, and encourage others to get involved.

Personally, Cathy enjoys her family, her snuggly bichon named Kai, making her yard beautiful, laughter and more laughter, and working toward her degree in English studies at Brigham Young University.

Kaylee Burr, Event and Social Media Support

Kaylee is currently a student at Utah Valley University, working on completing her Associates Degree in Biology. She hopes to continue her love of learning by earning an online Bachelors in Museum Studies.

Kaylee is a great fit for Hope4Orem, being much savvier with social media and comprehending the unique issues of her generation. Her contributions are priceless.

Kaylee is married to the love of her life, lives in Provo, loves playing D&D, crafting, and jewelry making.
